Our second annual 228 Day celebration is a unique opportunity for businesses, community leaders, and individuals to support Gulf Coast Community Foundation and its Community Impact Fund, which helps address community needs and sustain our work across South Mississippi. It also marks our 36th year of putting passion into action!
Inspired by our area code, 228 Day reflects the spirit of South Mississippi—neighbors supporting neighbors and businesses investing where they live and work. That’s what 228 Day celebrates, and your gift helps make that work possible when needs and opportunities arise. Plus, through Mississippi’s Endow Mississippi Tax Credit Program, your gift may qualify for a 25% state tax credit, making it an even more powerful way to invest in your community.

GivHer Circle Tour: Members get an exclusive tour of Back Bay Mission, recipient of 2025’s $20,000 GivHer Circle Grant, on February 20.
228 Day Open House & Celebration: February 27 at 8 a.m., Knight Nonprofit Center – Regions Room. RSVP by February 20 via the thumbnail below.
Student Health & Wellness Kits: In partnership with Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport (Harrison County), Junior Auxiliary of Hancock County, and PrepareHER Now (Jackson County), we’re collecting deodorant, soap, shampoo, menstrual supplies, and more for local students. Drop off items at GCCF (Knight Nonprofit Center, 11975 Seaway Rd, Suite B150, Gulfport) or, for Hancock County items, at Renasant Bank, Diamondhead City Hall, Bay High School, or Hancock High School. Drop-off locations for the other partners will be announced soon.
