Shuckers, Gulf Coast Community Foundation Announce Heart of a Shucker Community Fund

Biloxi Shuckers set to help the local community through donations to various organizations on the Coast

BILOXI, MS – The Biloxi Shuckers and the Gulf Coast Community Foundation have announced the Heart of a Shucker Community Fund. The fund is a charitable initiative, which will allow for the Biloxi Shuckers to make meaningful contributions to enhance the Gulf Coast community that the team calls home.

“This is something we’ve been working on for a long time and it’s incredibly exciting to finally have it in place and ready to impact our Gulf Coast Community in such a wonderful way,” David Blackwell, Shuckers’ Community Relations Manager, said. “The Gulf Coast Community has been so wonderful to us and this is just another way that we can give back to the place that we’re proud to call home.”

Throughout the remainder of the 2023 season, the Shuckers will donate and honor a community organization prior to a game during each homestand.

“The Gulf Coast Community Foundation is excited to partner with the Biloxi Shuckers and we look forward to the positive impact the Heart of a Shucker Community Fund will have on our community,” Christen Duhé, the President and Executive Director of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation said.

The fund, the first created in Shuckers franchise history, aims to support the local Gulf Coast community and beyond through meaningful contributions, partnerships and exposure.

The Gulf Coast Community Foundation (GCCF) actively promotes philanthropy throughout the lower six counties of South Mississippi. Since 1989, charitable contributions from our donors have made it possible for GCCF to distribute over $90 million toward improving the lives of Mississippi Gulf Coast residents.
