The Mississippi Legislature has extended through the end of 2021 the Mississippi CARES Grant Program created in 2020. The extension allows for additional COVID grant opportunities for all food pantries and previously unfunded non-profit organizations located in George, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River and Stone Counties.
The Gulf Coast Community Foundation has approximately $630,000 for food panty grants. All local food panties with eligible Covid related expenses can apply for reimbursement. The previous $12,000 grant limit for food pantries has been eliminated.
The Gulf Coast Community Foundation has approximately $174,000 for non-profit organization grants. Only non-profit organizations who have not previously received $12,000 funding from the 2020 Mississippi CARES Grant Program are eligible to apply for reimbursement of COVID related expenses.
Eligible Grantees may be reimbursed for eligible COVID related expenditures incurred between March 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021. Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

Can my food pantry apply even if I did not apply for the first round of CARES grant funding? Yes. If your organization meets the food pantry definition and has eligible COVID related expenditures with proper documentation.
Can I use my same log-in information if I applied previously for the first round of funding?
Yes. If you have forgotten your password, access the www.mscaresgrant.com website and reset your password.

If I started an application in the first round but never submitted it, may I submit it in this round?
