The Foundation is making a difference.
Since 1989, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation has helped donors, organizations, and leaders invest in meaningful ways and support charitable causes.
GCCF makes charitable giving easy and offers an alternative to starting a private foundation. A fund with the Community Foundation provides the tax advantages of a public charity and the support of a professionally trained staff to help you reach your charitable goals.
Managing Charitable Resources
The Foundation administers more than 120 funds and $20 million in assets.
Supporting Local Charities
Hundreds of charitable organizations and initiatives have received funding or technical support from the Foundation.
Providing Educational Opportunities
Each year, the Foundation funds more than 200 scholarships and dozens of grants, supporting a variety of educational programs.
Responding to Disasters
Following Hurricane Katrina, the Foundation administered more than $50 million in grants to support recovery efforts. A few of our accomplishments include: the building of 17 Kaboom! Playgrounds, 12 community centers, 6 daycare centers, 4 Boys & Girls Clubs and 187 homes.
Working with Regional & National Funders to Support Local Causes
After the BP oil spill, we worked with a national funder to administer $4 million in grants to 29 nonprofit organizations. These funds helped local people impacted by the oil spill.
