Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Grants
Hancock Whitney is honored to recognize teachers who continuously develop innovative teaching solutions, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and are passionate about the role they play today, in developing tomorrow’s future leaders. Up to 10 grants of up to $2,000 each are awarded to outstanding educators in Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson Davis, Lamar, and Pearl River counties who submit projects with an innovative approach to helping students learn. Coast Electric Community Trust Operation Round Up Grant
Coast Electric Community Trust Fund at the Gulf Coast Community Foundation funds Operation Round Up voluntary contributions from members of the Cooperative. Operation Round Up contributions are used in the local areas of Hancock, Harrison and Pearl River counties for non-profit, charitable and educational purposes, including the Share Your Blessings energy assistance program. Organizations or charities that align with Coast Electric’s mission culture and values can apply for up to $10,000 for a 12-month period, during either the February or August grant cycles. Major funding categories include Community Service, Economic Development, Education and Youth, and the Environment.

GivHer Circle Grant
The charitable purpose of the GivHer Circle Fund is to support local nonprofit organizations within the Foundation’s six-county district of George, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, and Stone counties. Nonprofits can apply to receive a GivHer Circle Grant, funded by the GivHer Circle Fund, for up to $20,000. Priority will be given to organizations that focus on child welfare, education, and health.

Anthony Dartez Endowment Fund
The Anthony Dartez Endowment Fund was established in April 1995 in Memory of Mr. Anthony Dartez. The fund is to provide grants for services including, but not limited to the training and educational needs of the physically and mentally challenged.
Who Can Apply
- Non-profit, tax-exempt organizations that are involved in enhancing the quality of life for citizens of South Mississippi.
- Organizations that have not been recognized as tax-exempt by the IRS may apply if they have a fiscal agent relationship with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
- Educators, as well as public and private schools on the Mississippi Gulf Coast
- Organizations located in Harrison, Jackson, Hancock, Pearl River, Stone, and George Counties
Awards are $2,000 or less.
Mary & Gene Levens Excellence in Teaching Grant
Mary & Gene Levens Excellence in Teaching Grant is honored to recognize teachers who continuously develop creative teaching solutions, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and are passionate about the role they play today, in developing tomorrow’s future leaders.
Teacher Award Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
- The applicant must be a teacher from the Long Beach Public School System or St. Vincent DePaul Elementary School.
- Teachers must complete an application created by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.
Amount of Teacher Grants:
A $1,000 grant or award shall be disbursed annually. The award shall be made to honor a teacher. The award must be made payable to either the school for the purpose of purchasing classroom material or supplies as determined by the teacher or awarded directly to a teacher as an award to recognize her achievement in the classroom. Donor recognizes that awards made payable to the teacher may be considered taxable income to the teacher. The grant award shall be disbursed in a single installment.
Use:
Teacher Grants shall be used by the teacher to purchase supplies, material, technology, equipment, or furnishings for use in the classroom or to pay for experiences that may benefit the class or students. The precise use of the funds shall be at the teacher’s discretion but must benefit her/his classroom or students in some way. The grant shall be paid by GCCF directly to the school or district on behalf of the teacher.
Pat Santucci Education Fund
The Pat Santucci Education Fund supports projects that impact public education, educators, and also special education in Harrison, Hancock, Jackson, Stone, Pearl River and George County School Districts.
Awards are $2,000 or less.
