FUNDS OF OUR FOUNDATION

Giving back to our community –now and forever- is at the heart of the Community Foundation. Funds held by the Community Foundation improve the quality of life in our community and will provide continued support for our community into the future.

The funds listed in this section are the core of the Community Foundation, both endowed and pass through funds. These funds are the major source of the grants that support the diversity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s nonprofit programs.

ENDOWED FUNDS

Anthony Dartez Endowment Fund Grants to the training and educational needs of physically and mentally challenged citizens of Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties.
Applications accepted in the spring by contacting GCCF or on the website.

Bacot Foundation Fund-Grants to designated charitable and educational purposesGrants awarded by the Bacot Foundation.

Biloxi First Endowment Fund- Established to benefit Biloxi education system through teacher grants.  Grants awarded by Biloxi First Board of Directors.

Carl M Crawford Fund-A donor advised fund to benefit children in Jackson County.  Grants awarded by the donor.

Isiah Fredericks Education Fund-Awards a grant each spring to a new education project in the Gulfport or Harrison County School Districts.  Applications accepted in the spring by contacting GCCF or the website.

Gulf Coast Education Initiative Fund-Supports programs in the areas of professional development, technology training and administration of National Board Certification for its member teachers.

Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra Endowment Fund-Provides sustaining support and ensures the future of live symphonic music on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  Grants awarded by Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra.

Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra Conductors Fund-To provide funding for chartered purposes for the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra.  Grants awarded by the Gulf Coast  Symphony Orchestra.

Gulfport Excellence Fund-Improves the quality of education in the Gulfport School District by making teacher grants. Grants awarded by Gulfport High School.

Hannah H. Hatfield Fund-Awards five grants to outstanding educators from the Gulfport Public School District to ensure excellence in education.  Grants awarded by Gulfport Junior Auxiliary.

Hazel Harrison Buck Arts & Cultural Fund-To benefit arts and culture.

J.B. & Dixie Knight Found-Donor advised for grants to nonprofit organizations.  Grants awarded by the donor.

Jackson County Civic Action Agency Fund-Supports and funds the operational, charitable and educational activities of the agency.  Grants awarded by Jackson County Civic Action Agency.

Knight Foundation Donor Advised Fund-Grants are awarded in the areas of education, well-being of children & families, housing & community development, civic engagement, and vitality of cultural life, benefiting residents of Harrison County.  Grants awarded by the Knight Foundation.

Leadership Gulf Coast Alumni Education Fund-Provides continuing leadership education opportunities for the alumni of GGC. Grants awarded by the MS Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce.

Memorial Hospital of Gulfport Foundation--To provide funding for chartered purposes for the Memorial Hospital of Gulfport Foundation.  Grants awarded by Memorial Hospital of Gulfport Foundation.

Monica Goretski Transplant Fund-Benefits transplant patients on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Ms. Goretski’s additional medical needs. 

MS Gulf Coast YMCA-Wyman Fund-Promotes youth academic excellence and supports the development of the “whole person”.  Grants awarded by the YMCA.

Mueller Family Foundation Fund-Donor designated grants to non-profit organizations.  Grants awarded by the donor.

Ocean Springs Education Foundation Fund-Provides funding to improve the quality of education in the Ocean Springs School District.  Grants awarded by OS Education Foundation.

O’Keefe Foundation Fund-A challenge grant spool for several designated education, religious, and cultural institutions in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and North Carolina. Grants awarded by the O’Keefe Foundation.

Our Mother of Sorrows Church Endowment Fund-Challenges the congregation of Our Mother of Sorrows Church to raise matching funds for their operations. Grants awarded by Our Mother of Sorrows Church.

Pat Santucci Friends of Public Education Funds-Awards grants for special education projects in Jackson, Harrison, Hancock, Pearl River, George and Stone Counties.  Applications accepted in the spring by contacting GCCF or on the website.

Roy Anderson Corporation Fund-Benefits children in the six southern most counties. Applications accepted in the spring by contacting GCCF or on the website.

Leo W. Seal Teacher Recognition Award Fund-Awards five grants to public and private school teachers in Forrest, Harrison, Hancock, Jackson, Pearl River, Jefferson Davis and Lamar Counties who best apply their teaching and leadership skills in classroom projects.  Applications available at Hancock Bank Branches.

Shaw University Endowment Fund-Benefits Shaw University’s Maintenance Fund for the Talbert O. Shaw learning and Languauage Center.

South MS Exchange Club Child Abuse Center--To provide funding for chartered purposes for the South MS Exchange Club Child Abuse Center. 

Dr. Philip Terrell Excellence in Education Endowment Fund-Benefits public education in the Pass Christian Public Schools.  Grants awarded by Pass Christian Public School Administration.

Tommye Williamson Alfonso Fund-Donor Designated to benefit organizations that assist children and the disabled. Grants awarded by the donor.

United Way of South Mississippi Community Disaster Reserve Fund-Awards grants to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.  Grants awarded by United Way.

United Way of South Mississippi Operating Endowment Fund-This organization fund benefits United Way of South Mississippi.

Walter Anderson Museum Endowment-To provide funding for chartered purposes for the Walter Anderson Museum.

Weitzel Family Fund-Donor advised fund for charitable purposes, Grants awarded by the donor.

Jack A. and Gertrude W. Wilson Animal Welfare Fund-Designated to support animal welfare non-profits. Grants awarded by GCCF by contacting the office or the website.

 

PASS THROUGH FUNDS

 

Bay St. Louis Rotary Community Hall-To be used for the planning, design, construction, furnishing and operating of public community center in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Breast Cancer Crusaders-Benefits breast cancer education and awareness.

Celebrate the Gulf Foundation Fund-Provides funding for local conservation groups to protect the Gulf of Mexico through education.

Cisco-For the benefit of Harrison County High School and Harrison Central 9th Grade Academy the 21st century school of the Harrison County School District.

D’Iberville Statue Fund-To create a statue of Pierre LeMoyne, Sieur d'iberville, and memorial walk, as part of the City of Biloxi's Tricentennial festivities.  Awards granted by the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce.

Efficiency in a box Fund-To benefit charitable purpose of funding efficiency in a box programs to teach sixth grade students energy saving measures.  Grants award by MS Power Education Foundation.

Gay B. Graves Fund-Designated to support non-profit organizations and religious groups.  Grants awarded by donor.

Good Works Fund-Gulf Coast Community Foundation Board designated grant fund.

Gulf Coast Association of Realtors-Provides funding to specific non –profit organizations. Grants awarded by Gulf Coast Association of Realtors.

Gulf Coast Business Council/Masters Program-The purpose of which is to establish an executive program that fosters enlightened leadership and advances the discussion and resolution of regionally significant issues through a series of seminars based on comprehensive study, critical thought, and open discussion or, if such program ceases to exist, for similar purposes. Grants awarded by Gulf Coast Business Council.

Gulf Coast Non-Profit Center Fund-To be distributed for the charitable purposes of funding programs to benefit non –profit organizations at the Gulf Coast Non-profit center. Grants awarded by the Board of Directors of the Gulf Coast Non-Profit Center.

Gulf Coast Renaissance Corporation-To fund operating expenses.

Gulf Coast Renaissance Knight Foundation Fund-To fund operating expenses.

Gulf Coast Wind Symphony Fund-Organization Fund supports organizational expenses of the Gulf Coast wind Symphony.

Gulfport Restoration-Jones Trees Fund-To benefit the restoration of trees at Jones Park.

Gulfport Restoration Project/Kaboom Fund-To benefit the restoration of Owen Palmer Park, second street, Gulfport

Hope Katrina-Hancock County Governors Fund-Donor desires that the fund distributions benefit charitable organizations whose programs have demonstrated that they are making a difference in the Katrina recovery and whose programs will continue to make a difference.  To be used not for "bricks and mortar:"  Grants awarded by the donor.

Isle of Capri Sunshine Bettendorf Fund-Disaster relief and emergency hardship support for team members.

Isle of Capri Sunshine Biloxi Fund-To aid in employee and or their dependents, who have experienced an unexpected emergency, such that if not relieved will lead to the loss of some of the basic necessities of life.

Isle of Capri Sunshine Davenport Fund-To aid IOC employees under hardship

Isle of Capri Sunshine Kansas City Fund-Team member emergency assistance.

Isle of Capri Sunshine Lake Charles Fund-Disaster Relief and Employee relief for distress situations.

Isle of Capri Sunshine Marquette Fund-To fund Team Members unexpected financial emergencies, which if not relieved will lead to the loss of some of the basic necessities of life.

Jackson County Drug Court Fund-To fund operations of the 19th Judicial District Drug Court including, but not limited to, scholarship monies for academic and/or vocational classes, fees for treatment, and costs associated with graduation/anniversary or other reward events. Additionally, funding will be used for any other expenses deemed necessary for the operation of the drug court program. Grants awarded by Jackson County Drug Court.

Leo Seal-Hancock County Governor’s Fund-To be used to hire staff and pay for expenses and programs cost associated with the implementation of the recommendations of the Governor's Commission on Recovery, Rebuilding and Renewal in Hancock County, MS.

Long Beach Children’s Library Campaign-Supports the capital campaign to enlarge the library to accommodate youth.

Long Beach Education Fund-Benefits schools, groups and individuals that improve youth education of Long Beach.

Long Beach Vision 20/20 Fund-Supports City of Long Beach in the areas of education, recreation and beautification.

Lynn Meadows Discovery Center Fund-Organization Fund that benefits education programs at the Discovery Center. Grants awarded by Lynn Meadows Discovery Center.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Education Fund-Provides opportunities for business, industry and education to interact by connecting learning and earning at all educational levels.

Mississippi Gulf Coast NGA 2009 Fund-Fund the 2009 National Governor's Conference to be held in Biloxi( Educational & Public Policy Conference) NOF Political.

Monica Goretski Fund-Supports the medical expenses of a double lung transplant patient and no profits supporting transplant patients.

Ocean Spring Education Fund-To fund Ocean Springs Education operations and grants.

George E Ohr Museum Fund-Challenges the Ohr museum to raise matching funds for their “Bring George Home Fund”.

Professionals Advocating for Children Fund-To ensure that the abused and neglected children of Harrison County receive the protection and services they are entitled to under MS State law.

Rockin the Coast Fund-The purpose is to support programs of nonprofit organization.  Grants awarded by a committee of  employees of the Hard Rock Casino.

Rotary International-Long Beach Fund - To rebuild Long Beach Community Center

South MS Center for Autism and Development Fund-To develop an Autism and Developmental Disabilities resource center, public awareness, training opportunities for teachers, support strategic and operational goals.

U.S. Senator Trent Lott Commemorative Fund-To benefit the National Guard Commemorative Program.
